Ontario Arts Council offers more than fifty funding programs for Ontario-based artists and arts organizations, with funds from the Ontario government. Grants provide assistance for a specific activity, support for a period of time, or for ongoing operations. OAC also offers awards, prizes and scholarships from private funds managed by the Ontario Arts Foundation.

HMFF wants to take Hamilton and surrounding area's top undiscovered musicians and filmmakers to the next level. We do this by giving awards that will assist assist artists in their next project, shooting videos to help them gain exposure, and give them feedback from industry veterans to improve their work.

The Hamilton Film Festival takes place in Ontario Canada at the historic Staircase Theatre. Hundreds of mainstream and independent films have been screened in the intimate theatre, which was the first LCD projector theatre to operate in Canada. A new screen has been added as well as HD projection. The movies look amazing! Theatre owner Hugh McLeod and the many staff and volunteers proudly support independent film and will continue to do so with this years 5th installment of the Hamilton Film Festival.

ARCCO is a professional arts service organization for artist-run, not-for-profit centres and collectives for contemporary art in Ontario. This includes centres/collectives for the presentation, production, dissemination, service and investigation of contemporary art in a variety of media and multi-disciplinary work.

The Independent Media Arts Alliance is a non-profit national arts service organization that promotes and advances the interests of a vibrant media arts community. Representing over 80 independent film, video, and new media production, distribution, and exhibition organizations in all parts of Canada, the IMAA serves over 12,000 independent media artists and cultural workers.

Based in Toronto, Canada, the CFMDC was founded in 1967 by a group of visionary filmmakers with the set goal of increasing distribution opportunities, audiences and visibility for artists and independent film. The CFMDC is artist-driven and dedicates itself to distributing films which operate not simply outside of the mainstream, but which are innovative and diverse in their origins and expressions. We believe that works gain historical and cultural value over time and that an evolving body of work by an individual artist is important to preserve.

Since 1963, Volunteer Hamilton has recruited and referred potential volunteers to local organizations. With 125 member agencies, we involve and make a real difference in our communities and neighbourhoods.

James St North is located in the heart of downtown Hamilton, comprised of the Italian, Portuguese and Vietnamese communities. And most recently a burgeoning arts community! Every Second Friday of the month there is a ArtCrawl, all the galleries of the area have their new art openings on the same night.

The Workers Arts & Heritage Centre is here to fulfill its mandate of preserving, honouring, and promoting the culture & history of all working people. Our Mandate points in the social justice direction, the union direction and the community activism path. We hope that future generations will follow.
