FACTORY MEDIA CENTRE

Any ideas as to what has prevented the effective creation of a Hamilton area indie video film production cooperative ?   I am absolutely baffled as to the local lack and apparent resistance to collaborative production so any suggestions, ideas, are appreciated.  (I sometimes think that the trend is a society of "one man bands" but that makes it extremely difficult for anyone to produce world class product within the economic constraints of most people's lives.)
